Clare Tourism Development DAC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Clare County Council, are proud to manage, develop, and promote a diverse portfolio of seven signature visitor attractions across the county – The Cliffs of Moher Experience, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Craggaunowen Castle and Crannóg, Knappogue Castle and Gardens, Loop Head Lighthouse, Inis Cealtra Visitor Experience, and Vandeleur Walled Garden and Visitor Centre. The mission is to deliver exceptional, memorable experiences that showcase the very best of Clare’s heritage, culture, and natural beauty.
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and commercially focused General Manager to lead the operations and development of The Cliffs of Moher Experience, Loop Head Lighthouse, and Vandeleur Walled Garden and Visitor Centre. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and as a member of the Senior Management Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional visitor experiences, driving commercial performance, leading high-performing teams, ensuring operational excellence, and supporting the long-term sustainable growth of these world-class attractions.
You will have significant senior management experience in tourism, hospitality, leisure, visitor attractions, or a similar customer-focused environment, together with a proven track record in operational leadership, commercial performance, financial management, business development, stakeholder engagement, and leading high-performing teams. You will possess strong strategic thinking, communication, and relationship management skills, supported by a relevant NFQ Level 8 qualification (or equivalent relevant experience).
